When former Cold Chisel manager Rod Willis decided to write a book he didn’t make it all about Chisel.
Rod was born into the entertainment industry. His parents worked in the Entertainment biz giving young Rod an insight into the biz they call Show.
By the time Rod started managing Cold Chisel, he was already well versed in how the music business worked and was already a world traveller.
Chisel five studio albums were released over a short span, all from 1978 to 1984. After Chisel and before Chisel reformed, Rod was a founder of the management and touring company Dirty Pool, working with Icehouse and bringing acts like Simple Minds, Tears For Fears and Howard Jones to Australia for the first time.
Rod has written the book about his life ‘Ringside’, published through Allen & Unwin. He talks to Noise11’s Paul Cashmere.
