Strangers

Powerful Sydney modern rockers Strangers take their music very seriously. On stage they’re a little more… loose.

Sydney quintet Strangers say they felt like outsiders, playing forceful and melodic rock on the glitzy beaches of the harbour, this outsider vibe fuelling to their epic debut Persona Non Grata, with guest vocals from Jon of Shihad. Now they’re tearing it up with simultaneous Sydney and Melbourne residencies at Cherry and the Landsdowne, and supporting Good Charlotte and The Darkness.

We chat to frontman Ben and (the silent but resplendently moustachioed) guitarist Mike about all of the above, plus getting pushed in the studio by producer (and Shihad drummer) Tom Larkin, the serious lyricism versus the loopy live performance, the long lead up to their debut, and lots more.
