The term supergroup gets kicked around a lot of to some extent The Hobart Brothers & Lil’ Sis are a supergroup but the musician mates prefer to think of themselves as a slumber group.
Susan Cowsill, Jon Dee Graham and Freedy Johnston are The Hobart Brothers and Lil’ Sis.
Susan was the lil’ sis of the legendary family 60s pop group The Cowsills. Power pop guitar hero Freedy Johnston is very sought after for sessions and has played with Tom Petty, Paul McCartney and The Hollies as well as in his other “super group The Know-It-All Boyfriends with Butch Vig and Duke Erikson from Garbage. Austin’s own Jon Dee Graham has played with Patty Griffin, John Hiatt and Lone Justice as well as in The True Believers with Alejandro Escovedo.
We caught up with Susan Cowsill at SXSW last year and nabbed her again at SXSW 2011 along with Freedy.
